Renown ‘Ino Ni Momo’ Singer Passes Away

Celebrated  cultural singer Murimi wa Kahalf passed on Thursday evening after a long illness that saw him admitted in hospital for a month. Murimi based all his songs using the Kikuyu language that were loved by many Kenyans both those who understood and those who didn’t.

The singer, remembered for his “Ino ni Momo”  song that received countrywide airplay, was battling a yet to be disclosed illness.

His friends in early May organised a fundraiser and called for fans to contribute via Paybill to enable them offset his hospital bill that they said had increased significantly.

Murang’a Women Representative Sabina Chege confirmed that the singer’s family had indeed lost their celebrity son.

“I wish to convey my condolences to Murimi’s family and urge them to be strong during this time,” she said.

Uliza Links joins the family in prayers as they go through this tough time.
